We are the first Multimedia Training Center based in Siberut island, Mentawai.
Our aim is to build capacities among the Mentawai youth to let them express our culture freely through NICTs
Intensive ToT (Training of Traineers) has being implemented by Guillermo Maceiras to all IMC staff, in order to gain practical experience on how to develop comunity-based audiovisual micro-projects.
The video you are going to watch is the final outcome of the training, and represents the very first video written, filmed and edited entirely by Mentawaians. please check it out the videos in project and our trainings.
Shooting locations were in the Siberut island and some activity in Padang.

Practical modules IMC teachers with selected basis. for the last modules, we organize to make one project of each groups. The group has divide to become 3 groups, they are Education, Culture and Ecoturism

The first IMC workshop
This is the first workshop by IMC on Apr 2013. After identification the Mentawai youth as teachers by program as program qualification by management IMC and experts team. Finally, The IMC teachers has been choosen 6 person (half man and woman). with different come from (still arround Mentawai) different tribe, different religion. But in IMC we will unite the all difrentiation to become one. We will take attention to gender equality in this program. "Will be success if we are together" that is our slogan to achieve IMC goal; to keep save and promote about Mentawai in audivisual based micro - industry.
This is the first program in Mentawai moval on Audiovisual based micro - industry. The first capacity buiding we organizing in Muara Siberut. In Muara Siberut we do basic workshop to the teachers by experts team during 2 weeks (intensive training). after do the training to the teachers level, the teachers and experts team goinhg to the field together to Sikabalauan village (North oof Siberut island), Saibi village (middle of Siberut island) and Saibi village (South of Siberut island). In the field, We dop some workshop also for Mentawai youth. During the workshop, the experts team shows to the teacher how to teach student in multimedia berfore the teacher going to the field by themselves.
