Intercultural Multimedia Center in Siberut island is purposed to set the basis of a creative micro-industry within the indigenous youth of Mentawai archipelago. This initiative provides to Mentawai young men and women with the needed capacities to express their culture through multimedia communication. IMC is nowadays serving as a training center and a creative space, equipped with human, technical and didactic resources, as well as with the needed tools and materials, encouraging entrepreneurs and creators to unleash their imagination.
This initiative was possible thanks to the support of local NGO PASIH (Association of Siberut green), PEMKAB MENTAWAI (local government) and the finantial contribution of the International Fund for Cultural Diversity from UNESCO.
With the contract number 4500196316 by Division International Fund for Cultural Diversity (IFCD) UNESCO France and Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) by Mentawai government.
